Slow Transfer Speed, Long Transfer Time
Issue Symptoms
After capturing an image in Epic Eye, the transfer time and transfer speed will be displayed at the top left of the interface.
Under normal conditions, the transfer time and speed based on different bandwidths are as shown in the table below:
Network Bandwidth | Transfer Time | Transfer Speed |
---|---|---|
Gigabit |
~300ms |
1000Mbps |
Fast Ethernet |
1000ms |
100Mbps |
If the transfer time and speed differ significantly from the above table, it indicates an abnormal transfer speed.
Possible Causes
The issue may be due to damage to the camera’s internal wiring, the camera’s Ethernet cable, the Ethernet cable connecting the computer and the router, or the camera’s Ethernet port.
Solution
-
Check if the camera’s Ethernet cable plug is damaged. If damaged, repair it with a tool or contact Transfer to replace the camera’s Ethernet cable.
-
Check if the camera’s Ethernet port is damaged. If damaged, contact technical support to replace the camera.
-
Check if the Ethernet cable connecting the computer and the router is a gigabit cable (you can verify this in Settings > Network > Wired) and if it is damaged. If it’s a Fast Ethernet cable, replace it with a gigabit Ethernet cable.
-
If none of the above checks reveal an issue, the camera’s internal Ethernet cable may be damaged. In this case, contact technical support to replace the camera.
