How to Obtain and Set Camera IP

In practical applications, there are two main ways to obtain and set the camera IP: using the "Epic Eye SearchTool" or via the "Router Configuration Tool". Please choose the appropriate method according to your network environment.

Scenario Recommended Method

The camera is directly connected to the industrial PC, or the camera is connected to the industrial PC via a router

Use the "Epic Eye SearchTool" for IP query and configuration, suitable for most local deployment scenarios.

The camera is connected to the industrial PC via a router

Use the "Router Configuration Tool" for IP management in the router management interface, suitable for centralized management scenarios.

Regardless of the method used, ensure that the camera IP address and the industrial PC network port IP address are on the same subnet; otherwise, the devices cannot communicate properly.

Using the "Epic Eye SearchTool"

The "Epic Eye SearchTool" is suitable for scenarios where the camera and the industrial PC are on the same local network or directly connected. With this tool, users can conveniently query and modify the camera’s IP address, supporting both static IP and dynamic IP (DHCP) assignment.

Operation Steps

  1. Download and install the Epic Eye SearchTool according to your operating system.

  2. After launching the tool, it will automatically scan and display the cameras and their IP addresses on the current network.

  3. Select the target camera to perform the following operations:

    1. Query the current IP address and other information.

    2. Change the IP assignment type (static IP or DHCP).

    3. Set a new static IP address, ensuring it is on the same subnet as the industrial PC.

    4. After applying the changes, wait for the camera to restart for the settings to take effect.

For detailed operation instructions, refer to: Epic Eye SearchTool User Guide.

If the tool cannot find the camera, please refer to FAQ.

Using the "Router Configuration Tool"

When the camera is connected to the industrial PC via a router, or when centralized management of multiple devices is required, it is recommended to manage the IP through the router configuration interface.

Confirming the Camera IP

Obtain and confirm the camera IP address in the router configuration interface as follows:

  1. Open a browser and enter tplogin.cn or the default IP address of the router (e.g., 192.168.1.1) in the address bar.

  2. On the router login page, enter the account and password, then click Login.

  3. Click Basic Settings  LAN Settings  Client List in sequence.

In this list, you can view the IP addresses of all connected devices, including the camera and the industrial PC.

Setting the Camera IP

  1. In the client list, find the target camera (identified by MAC address or device name).

  2. Click Add on the right side of the corresponding device to set its IP address as statically assigned to prevent IP changes.

  3. In the static address assignment list, you can view and modify the added static IP addresses.

When setting a static IP, ensure that the selected IP address is not occupied by other devices and is on the same subnet as the industrial PC.
